Stratford's Ophelia
Soft you now - the fair Ophelia! -
Nympth, in thy orisons are all my sins remembered.
Tis in my memory locked
And you yourself shall keep the key of it.

This is Stratford's Ophelia. She was my first AKC registered Alaskan Malamute, bought from Chad and Tia Cooper of Ellas Kennels in South Dakota. Ophelia is a great dog and a really fantastic mother. Ophelia is not the largest dog in the kennel, but she packs the genes of some very large dogs in her line. Ophelia's father Lambro Ellas weighs 160 lbs. +/-, and all of Ophelia's pups have been much larger than their mother. Take a look at her son Stratford's Oberon to get an idea.
Ophelia takes a break while hiking up on Sheep's Crossing.
Ophelia is a people friendly
dog. In fact, I would say that this is her best quality. Here she shows her
smile.
Ophelia is a solid black with full white face mask. If you look at her pictures
here OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOshe is quite
dark. There are a few areas that are lighter, but for the most part OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOher
entire undercoat is black - just like her dad's.
Ophelia was born in the
Spring of 2003. Here she is pictured at just under a year.
Ophelia has a lot of Wakon Kennel in her lines, and you can see it here. She has a shorter muzzel than some of my other dogs and a much heavier face. Her jaw line is strong and her head is very wide. With her very compact front end, and broad chest, Ophelia is a very strong dog. In fact, this last winter she won the White Mountain Winter Games weight pull ! Here she is pictured at two and a half years old.
